The Neotia University (TNU) is one of the noble initiatives by the AmbujaNeotia Group that is headquartered in Kolkata. This dynamic endeavor of AmbujaNeotia Group is led by our Chancellor Padmashree Harshavanrdhan Neotia. The Neotia University was established vide the West Bengal State Government University Act XXIII of 2014 and enlisted & recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC), Govt. of India.
TNU is primarily reaching out to the brightest of the interior students in rural areas with multidisciplinary courses with specialization to ensure that students have the required skills and knowledge that will ensure their leadership for jobs and self-employment.
TNU offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctorate Programmes in Science & Technology, Maritime Studies, Agriculture & Allied Sciences, Hospitality Administration and Culinary Arts, Pharmaceutical Science, Health Sciences, Humanities Management & Social Sciences, and Legal Studies. The multidisciplinary courses with specializations are designed to ensure that students have the required subject & practical skills & knowledge that will ensure their leadership for jobs and self-employment.
TNU aims to attain holistic development of its students by ensuring that the education provided is contemporary and experiential through partnerships with industries and other academic institutes.
More than 3200 students on campus are drawn from India and Abroad and enjoy their University life in our fully Wi-Fi-enabled 60-acre lush green campus with ample sports & co-curricular activities.
TNU’s response to the pandemic has been swift. The University has taken a series of actions to ensure a safe and hygienic campus. Regular Teaching-Learning, Practical Lab Sessions, Projects, Semester exams, regular Internal Exams and Evaluations, and Group Discussions have completely moved to Online Mode using Microsoft Teams. Virtual classroom means not only the deployment of technological tools but also a new Pedagogy.

The decision of the Management will be final and can not be challenged.
Family Income Certificate to be obtained from any “A1 Gazetted Officer / BDO/ SDO / ADM / DM etc.” and Affidevit has to be filled-up and signed by the student / guardian wherever applicable.
For Under Graduate (UG) courses – Higher Secondary (12th Class) Marks on the basis of “Best of 5 Subjects” or Diploma Marks or WBJEE Rank or JEE Mains Rank required for All Recognized & Valid Boards will be considered.
For Post Graduate (PG) and and Vocational Courses, the above Scholarship Criteria is NOT applicable
For Lateral Entry courses – Scholarchip shall be calculated on overall Diploma marks.
For GRAMOTTHAN & SPECIAL HILL STUDNETS’ Scholarship – submission of the Permanent Resident Proof of studnets is mandatory.
(6-A) Stusents need to apply for Chancellor’s Scholarship separately after taking Final Admission. An Empowered Committee will decided about the award of this scholarship after interview and other formalities
To continue the Scholarship for next semester(s), (a) the students cannot fail in any subject in the current semester (b) should score minimum 6.5 SGPA (c) Should not have attend Summer Classes.
Students need to apply for scholarship with all required & supporting documents after Final Admission to the Registrar Office, TNU within stipulated notified time.
Students will not be eligible for continuation of scholarship in the next semester; those will go for summer school as they are not eligible to sit for the end semester exam due to the attendance shortfall (N.B. For summer school the criteria of attendance will be decided by the competent authority in semester wise, for odd sem 2025.)
From the above scholarships, a student shall get the benefit from any ONE scheme only.
Scholarship for International Studnets (except Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh) is separate.
A student can get maximum upto 100% Scholarship only.

TNU Hostel, Transportation & Terms

Hostel Charges (Boys / Girls)

Rs. 45,000/- per Semester + Rs. 23,000/- One Time Fee (Including refundable security deposit of Rs. 15000/-).

NOTE: Staying at TNU Hostel is optional except for all Maritime Studies Courses as per DG Shipping, Govt. of India rules with extra fee (Rs 45000/- per semester + Rs 23000/- – One Time Fee) (Rs 15000/- refundable).

AC Bus Transportation Charges

(2) Uniform is mandatory for MRE (Marine Engg.), BNS (Nautical Sc.) & All Courses under School of Hospitality & Culinary Art and Management or Any other Department decides as per regulations and requiremnets of the University, with extra fee (actual) as applicable.
(3) Students are entitled for FREE Study Materials / Books on every semester.

(6) 25% to 100% SCHOLARSHIP on tution fees is AVALABLE for qualified candidates as per the TNU Scholarship criteria EXCEPT for Vocational Studies and Post Graduate Courses in 2025-26
(7) Eligibility percentage (%) for UG programs will be calculated on Best of Five (05) Subjects of Class-XII Board Examination. Only Valid & Recognized Boards & Universities are accepted. For Post Graduate courses overall percentage in Graduation will be consider and for Lateral Entry courses overall percentage in Diploma will be consider.
(8) For the earlier 3 Years UG Courses will be now (3 + 1) Years Course. The final 1 Year (i.e, 7th & 8th Semester) will have On Job Trainee (OJT) or Research Works. For the students will opt for OJT will pay Rs.10,000/- per semester for 7th & 8th and for the students those will be eligible and opt for Research Works will have to pay FULL SEMESTER FEE for 7th & 8th Semesters.
